Cross stitch means there are things I really need
As a cross stitcher there are things I really need. I don't just mean I'd like but things that would make life so much easier.

Top of my list (today) is the requirement that sofa designers incorporate pin cushions in the sofa arms, preferably with safety covers. That way I wouldn't have to run, shrieking, towards anyone who sits in 'my spot' and attempt to find all the needles I've jabbed in the sofa. There would be a designated spot. And it would mean I could have a leather sofa.

Brightener switches. Forget dimmer switches. As a cross stitcher I need bright light to stitch in so the lighting needs to be turned up. Only when I'm stitching though, hence the need for brightener switches. (OK, so it's not often I sit without stitching but there must be occasions.)

Fabric swatch printers. We have 3D printers, so why not hand-dyed fabric swatch printers? It would save hours staring at the laptop screen and wondering whether fabric A will work better with DMC 3747 or whether I should go for fabric B.

Part two to come another day!
