Forgotten skills
Given the thousands of cross stitchers on Facebook I wouldn't have said cross stitching is a forgotten skill - but hats off to Natalie Philpott for her project to resurrect forgotten skills.

The third year fine art student found a picture of her three-times great grandfather Alfred Webb, who worked as a domestic engineer in Falmouth and sold his services from a cart.

Natalie built a replica of the cart and then advertised for practitioners of skills from bygone eras to take part in a Forgotten Skills day. And while saw sharpening and sock darning might not be too unfamiliar who knew about a form of measuring called spiling?

You can read more about Natalie's project here.
