There’s something magical about the west of Ireland and over the years I’ve visited a lot of it – from Crookhaven to Malin Head, always with a camera at the ready. Over the past few years I’ve been joining watercolour painting breaks at Harvey’s Point in Donegal and it was there that I met the Derry-Londonderry-based artist Joan Crossan. Joan, who has had dozens of exhibitions and commissions, very kindly allowed me to turn a couple of her pictures into cross stitch charts, including this one of an Ulster cottage.
